The NCASS Code of Practice is a set of standards and guidelines based on Good Practice and current legislation that Fixed Site caterers should* adhere to when setting up and running their business.

It has been developed from our vast experience within the industry as part of our desire to improve standards through clear and informative guidance and training.

It builds on from many of the topics on this site and identifies and informs:

  • What the law says

  • What Good Practice is

  • What the correct procedure should be

  • What the incorrect procedure is

*Whilst some topics are covered by current legislation, others are not and this is the purpose of the Code of Practice. Therefore it is the advice of NCASS that all Fixed Site Caterers should operate to the Standards, Principles and Procedures outlined within the Code of Practice.
