World Food Safety Day 2022

Safety

Tuesday 7th June is World Food Safety Day 2022, established by the United Nations in 2018 to raise public awareness of food safety. Since the start of the pandemic, local authorities have seen a drop in compliance with food safety and it is estimated that foodborne diseases affect 1 in 10 people worldwide, every year.

This year’s theme is ‘Safer food, better health,’ and aims to highlight the role that safe and nutritional food plays in ensuring human health and wellbeing. The campaign also seeks to remind food businesses of their responsibility to maintain hygiene standards so that food is safe for consumers.

NCASS offers support and advice on how to improve internal procedures. NCASS members receive discounts on a variety of training courses such as:

  • Levels 1, 2 and 3 Food Hygiene Training
  • Health & Safety in Catering
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Training

Our courses are triple-accredited and highly recognised by industry experts and Greenwich Borough Council on behalf of the Government and our Primary Authority Partnership. NCASS members and non-members, can access all online training here.

All food businesses have a responsibility by law to ensure that the food that they prepare and sell is safe to eat. With your NCASS membership, you have access to our Due Diligence system, a Food Safety Management System that includes everything that you need to know to run your business safely and legally.

It can be difficult to know where to start with compliance and regulation, however, with NCASS membership we’re here to make it simple and our expert tools, systems and team of specialists make it easy and save you time.

In preparation for World Food Safety Day 2022, the World Health Organization (WHO) has encouraged food businesses to:

  • Follow up on food safety commitments
  • Promote food safety culture
  • Comply with national food standards

NCASS membership provides expert guidance, advice and training in these key areas ensuring that your business is safe, legal and compliant. This then allows you to focus on running a successful business that confidently produces safe food for all consumers.

Whilst you can still access all training without membership, NCASS membership has added benefits and great discounts.

Join today to further benefit from expert advice and discounted training and ensure that you are prepared for both World Food Safety Day 2022 and good food safety practices at all times.
