Mark McCulloch, ex marketing chief of Pret A Manger and Yo! Sushi is working in collaboration with hospitality heavyweights such as UK Hospitality, BBPA and the Scottish Hospitality Group in an effort to tackle the industry’s recruitment crisis.
The grass-roots campaign’s mission is simple – to “create the biggest hospitality recruitment advertising campaign that the UK has ever seen by doubling our talent pool.” In order to do this, the group aim to change the perception of the industry; showcasing it for the creative, progressive industry that it is.
In order to fund the recruitment drive, the campaign is asking industry employers to pledge £10 per employee in order to reach its investment target of £5m by May 2022. Hospitality Rising has already secured in excess of £350,000 in pre-launch seed funding. As of February 12th, the group were around 35% of the way there.
