Applications are open now for funding to support food and drink festivals and events across Wales.
The fund of £300,000 is a small grants scheme that seeks to address the Welsh Government’s 10 key actions for their ‘Vision for the Food & Drink Industry‘. Through this initiative, the aim is to support festivals and events by adding value to the industry in Wales, by improving visitor access to and the awareness of Welsh food and drink.
Alongside this, the initiative aims to encourage collaboration and co-operation among the Welsh hospitality sector and food and drink businesses, in order to source more local food and drink produce and to increase the amount of Welsh food and drinks featuring on menus.
Applications for the fund are open to festivals and events that are taking place between 1st July 2023 and 31 March 2024. Ideally it will bring together the areas of agri-food, food processing, tourism destinations, the food service sector, food festivals and food retail outlets, all encompassed in the same scheme.
Opening at the beginning of this month (1st July), the application period will remain open until 5pm on 31st July 2023.
