The Defra team want to invite you to take part in user research that will inform and guide the introduction of a mandatory disposable fibre-composite cup takeback scheme, which is part of Government’s Extended Producer Responsibility and Collection and Packaging Reforms.
This scheme aims to increase the recycling of fibre-composite material, specifically disposable fibre-based composite cups. These are usually paper cups with a plastic lining, such as disposable coffee cups.
From 2024, sellers of these disposable cups with more than 10 FTE staff will need to provide a bin to collect used cups, and report to the regulator the weight of cups sent for recycling and the weight of cups they have sold.
They can do this on their own, or through a dedicated third-party scheme (a ‘takeback scheme’).
We are looking to find the right people to contribute to our upcoming user research sessions, here are the details:
Dates: 7th August – 16th August
Times: 09:00 – 17:00
Duration: 1 hour
Sessions: 5
Platform: MS Teams
If you’re available this week let [email protected] know and the Defra team will send over a meeting invite. For more relevant industry updates and news click here.
