Applications for The British Street Food Awards are open

British Street Food Awards

Street food isn’t a fad any more – it’s not The Next Big Thing. It’s part of the fabric of our society. So Food Mutiny, the team behind the British Street Food Awards, have seen finding and rewarding the best that’s out as their patriotic duty.

They founded the British Street Food Awards 14 years ago, and the special BSFA logo they issue to the finalists chosen to compete each year – from over 2,000 applicants – is a real badge of honour. So why not give it a go? Application form here.

2023 was the Award’s best year yet for PR and media. Check it out here. But 2024 is shaping up to be even better. Check out number 5 in The Guardian’s list of 30 things we love in the world of food. And watch the BSFA founder on BBC Breakfast talking about street food and social media, and listen to him on You and Yours talking about street food and the new generation of food halls. Now they’ve launched in the USA. Street food and the Awards are front and centre.

A British Street Food Award genuinely changes lives. Wingmans, big winners at the BSFA and the ESFA in 2017, recently opened up their second ‘proper’ restaurant. MEATliquor, who won at the Awards back in 2010 – now have nine of the things. Bao have five. This year the BSFA champions will be going to compete in the grand final of the 2024 European Street Food Awards in Germany. BSFA winners go places. Literally.

WANT TO BE INVOLVED IN OUR PLANS?

But it all starts here. Head straight over to our new application form. If chosen, you’ll be invited to compete in your heat (where there is a people’s vote and a judges’ vote, plus wild cards for the traders the judges think deserve them). Winners go through to the British finals in London, and then the European finals in Germany, so make 100% certain you’re available. That champion’s trophy won’t lift itself you know…
