Welsh Street Food Awards

The inaugural Welsh street food awards

The Welsh Street Food Awards took place in Milford Haven over the first weekend in September, with the country’s foremost street food vendors competing for both the judge’s and the public choice awards, as well as the chance to compete in the final round of The British and European legs of the street food awards.

A spokesperson for the event spoke of its success “it was a fantastic weekend which saw the majority of traders sell out more than once.”

“The people of Milford Haven were an absolute dream and we all felt incredibly welcome…thank you to everyone who voted and came down and tried some of the amazing street food there is to offer in Wales.”

NCASS members go for gold

NCASS members, Assembelly, took home the much-coveted Public Choice award which means they’ll be heading to London for the final in the coming weeks. Paternoster Farm won the Judge’s Choice award which means they too will be heading to London.

Assembelly’s Toby Bradley-Watson, who hails from Manorbier said he was “delighted” with the accolade: “I am delighted to have got through, I was hoping to place but to be going to London to represent Wales is a huge honour.”

Organisers have confirmed they will be back in Tenby in June 2019 for another Pembrokeshire Street Food Festival. Congratulations to all of the event’s participants and to Assembelly on their well-deserved win!
