Million Pound Menu returns, featuring more NCASS members!

BBC Two’s Million Pound Menu returns to screens on Tuesday 8th January and episode one’s three featured businesses are all NCASS members.

Jah Jyot’s Ranie, BBQ Dreamz’s Lee & Sinead and The Duck Truck’s Ed will all battle for financing from four potential investors from the bar and restaurant industry. The winning business owner(s) will have the opportunity to open a pop-up restaurant in Manchester for two days, where they can prove that their idea is workable, and worth a hefty investment.

What are their concepts?

Ranie’s inspiration for Jah Jyot came from his mother’s home cooking, and from there, he developed his signature Punjabi dishes. He is seeking a £707,000 investment to move from street food to restaurant.

Lee & Sinead sell Filipino food with a modern twist from their food van, BBQ Dreamz. Originally inspired by Lee’s grandmother’s food, they are seeking £350,000 to bring a lesser-known cuisine to the UK masses.

Ed is looking for a £250,000 investment to develop his signature rotisserie-cooked crispy duck wrap from The Duck Truck and bring an all-duck concept to customers in the form of a casual dining restaurant.

Who will invest?

The show, back for series two, and presented by Galvin at Windows maître d’ Fred Sirieix, returns to BBC Two at 8pm on Tuesday 8th January. Tune in to find out!
