Bolton’s Market Place Kitchen opens to traders

The Moorgarth Group, owners of several shopping centres across the UK, are embarking on a new project to introduce street food areas into their premises.


Opening at the end of July, the group will kick start the project at Market Place Kitchen in the centre of Bolton. Part of the rejuvenation of the 1855 Bolton Market Hall, the project will enable up to 150,000 visitors per week to engage with street food in their local area.

Moorgarth are looking for passionate artisan food and drink traders in need of a new opportunity to sell their products to a large audience. The Market Place is open seven days a week and offers customers over 75 different retailers on site. The new Market Place Kitchen aims to provide visitors with the opportunity to try new flavours and cuisines with a maximum of 4 street food vans and 8 pop-up catering units at any one time.


Market Place Kitchen: a Street Food Market to be in the heart of the Bolton Market Place Centre, surrounded by seating areas, opening in late July 2018. Market Place Kitchen will bring shoppers and visitors opportunity to experience various foods & flavours and cuisines, from an eclectic mix of up to a maximum of 4 street food vans and a maximum of 8 pop ups catering units, at any one time, all under one roof!

Market Place Patio: is the outdoor market section, off Corporation Street, dedicated to speciality events such as flowers market, artist and craft market, vintage market, “bric à brac” market, all sort of exciting events periodically. Opening early September 2018 after the Bolton Food and Drink Festival.
