GRUB launch Kickstarter

by Charlotte Anderson | Jan 14, 2020

The street food market, by now a bonafide Manchester institution has today launched a Kickstarter campaign in a bid to raise the funds needed for their ambitious and philanthropic venture. Having recently moved sites, their aim is to turn GRUB into “one of the most exciting events spaces in the city, with a beautiful beer garden, lovely market hall and fun things.”

However, the main purpose of the campaign is to raise enough money to allow them to provide free space to charities, groups and organisations who work tirelessly to help the people of Manchester; as well as to provide new opportunities for artists, makers and creatives to run events/workshops and showcase their work. They also aim to provide free mentoring to amateur chefs looking to establish a street food business.

“We want our home to become the home of local charities, community groups and support organisations looking for spaces which will allow them to achieve their goals.”

Jason Bailey, GRUB founder said:

People have always been what street food is about, the traders and the visitors make it what it is. We want to bring more and more people into this new venue from all walks of life so we can support people in Manchester who could do with a space or an opportunity to make a difference to their lives. It’s the most exciting project we’ve ever been involved in and street food is a huge part of that.”

The Kickstarter is live from now until 2nd February which gives you just 19 days to donate to this brilliant initiative.
