Tax Changes: What you need to know

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

With some big tax changes on the horizon, namely Making Tax Digital and updates to Corporation Tax and VAT, we’ll be hearing from Andrew James from James Stanley Accountants and NCASS’ Dan Fox on what the implications of the impending changes mean for SME catering businesses. How can you ensure that your business remains compliant throughout and what are the potential advantages associated with the changes to tax regulation?

SPEAKERS

We’ve reached out to experts to find out about changes in tax. Read more about them below.

As Commercial Director at NCASS, Dan is tasked with overseeing all things finance related within the business. From building and maintaining supplier memberships, such as those with Booker and Biopac to name but a few; if it’s numbers related, then the chances are Dan is your man!

James Stanley heads up the James, Stanley & Co practices which incorporates The Catering Accounting Company:

The business was founded in 1922 by my grandfather and I am proud to say that it is one of the longest established accountancy firms, having avoided mergers or a drastic change in identity since its inception.

I trained with Touche Ross & Co. who later merged with Deloitte before joining the family firm. During my time in this sector, the profession has changed hugely, and successful accountants are now responsible for much more than ‘crunching numbers.’

Our job is to

  • Help business owners run a successful, profitable and enjoyable business
  • Get a decent work/life balance
  • Free business owners from worries about compliance matters
  • Ensure that business and their owners pay no more than the legal minimum amount of tax
  • Support clients in achieving their goals, both business and personalWith my experience of the catering sector, I am well placed to deliver those aims to business owners in this industry.
