Ready to trade, fully equipped and functioning South African street food business. In the space of 18 months Bongo Bunee Chow has gone from an idea borne out of a conversation between friends over a bottle of wine, to serving around 2000 guests across 14 events in Warwickshire and beyond. The ‘Bunny Chow’ - a staple dish in Durban, South Africa - and our version of it here in the UK has created an incredible buzz in the British food festival scene during the 2024 season. The branding is distinctive, the food tasty and the eating experience like nothing other - by the way, this is what our customers have said! The product is a warm bread roll (out-sourced), hollowed-out and filled with a choice of three homemade curries; Lamb, chicken or chickpea, topped with fresh salad, minted yogurt sauce, green chillies and Mrs Balls chutney (a South African speciality, available at Tesco's!) The founders Raj and Craig embarked on this journey as an experiment to test the market and its ‘appetite’ for a new street food product, all the while continuing to run their own respective businesses. Craig, a well-established Chiropractor and Raj, Chef and Food Experience Creator were torn between their ‘day jobs’ and Bongo Bunee Chow. And despite the demand and opportunity to attend 4-5 events a week during the peak periods, the business was limited by its founder's time to dedicate to the business. It has become clear that to scale, the business requires a dedicated owner who can focus on this 100%. So after much deliberation it is with a heavy (but excited) heart that Bongo Bunee Chow is ready to be handed over to a new owner who shares the same energy and passion, but also has the time to enable the business to achieve its full potential.
