Yesterday, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt stood up to present the Autumn Statement and medium-term fiscal plan to Parliament.
This has been much awaited since the huge U-turns a month ago following the “mini-budget” announced by the former Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng on 23 September. There has been significant speculation in the run-up, and it is safe to say that the announcement was as expected, with significant tax rises and spending cuts.
Understanding what all of the measures announced actually means for you is not always a straightforward task. Thankfully Andrew James of James, Stanley & Co and The Catering Accounting Company has created a comprehensive guide that breaks down each of the outlined measures and changes and reports what the reality of these changes is for you.
