After completing the course, the learner will:

  • Understand the costs of poor health and safety and the benefits of good health and safety.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare within the workplace.
  • Understand the general requirements of H & S law.
  • Understand how risk assessments are carried out and how they can improve health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
  • Recognise common hazards in a workplace and understand common risk controls.
  • Understand the common causes of workplace accidents and the range of actions that may be required after an incident.
  • Understand the arrangements necessary to provide appropriate first aid treatment and deal with emergencies in the workplace.

How long will it take to complete?

There are 14 modules included in the course which will take between 8-10 hours to complete. There is a brief quiz at the end of each module to aid memory retention.  The course finishes with a 40 multiple choice question assessment at the end to be completed within a 45-minute timeframe – the pass mark is 75% – 30/40. You can save and go back to the course at any stage, enabling you to complete at your own pace.
