In the financial year 2015/16, foodbank use rose to record levels (Source: The Trussell Trust) and increased by 2% on the previous year. The Trussell Trust provided a staggering 1,109,309 three-day emergency supplies in 15/16, signalling an ever-increasing reliance on foodbank use; with the primary reasons for referral to foodbanks ranging from low income to delayed wages - with demand soaring at this time of year.
On 21st December, NCASS were delighted to be able to make a considerable donation in the form of food and toiletries to Birmingham Central Food Bank, alongside other Birmingham businesses such as The Ticket Sellers and were incredibly encouraged by the generous donations made not only by our NCASS Family but by neighbouring businesses. The Trussell Trust works tirelessly throughout the year in an endeavour to stop UK Hunger and we, like so many others, are endlessly grateful for the work they do.
